Exclusive: Kenny Omega Finished With New Japan Pro Wrestling
This is indeed a very interesting time for professional wrestling, with the announcement of the impending launch of All Elite Wrestling and their recent high profile free agent signings. One of the hottest topics currently is the future of Kenny Omega.
It was reported earlier today that Omega was offered a huge, $3.5 million dollar contract from WWE.
While speaking to a well placed source who has given me exclusive stories in the past, has mentioned that Kenny Omega is finished with New Japan Pro Wrestling and will NOT be re-signing with the company. In addition, it is believed that he could be done with the promotion as early as this weekend.
Other reports that have been circulating have mentioned that Omega is expected to have a meeting with WWE in the next few days and that a decision is to be made by Monday. This seems to line up with the information that I was told by my source regarding Omega leaving New Japan.
I was also told that there is said to be “something big” planned for tomorrow’s New Years Dash event as well. This leads me to speculate that a potential send-off for Omega could be planned, possibly similar to what the company did for AJ Styles last night with the company before departing for WWE.
We will keep you updated when more information regarding Kenny Omega’s wrestling future becomes known.
