TNA News – Anthem Sports Executives, Production & Venue Changes, Recently Released Staff, More

Last week, BQ from the Negative BQ podcast was a featured guest on the Voices of Wrestling Mike & JD Show, where he revealed some exclusive news about the backstage workings of TNA recently.

Here are some highlights from the show:

—He was just flat out told that all of these off screen firings/releases were performance related.

-Was also told Anthem Sports network execs wanted to improve the production quality and Anthem execs will be more involved in making it look like a national wrestling company; says that things became stagnant under previous management.

Since Scott D’Amore’s departure, Anthem executives Ariel Shnerer and Anthony Cicione have been at every TNA event.

-Reports of Scott being denied more spending was more about a disagreement in the vision rather than not wanting to actually spend money.

-Apparently they are gonna start trying to do venues that look less Indy on TV. The current venues the company is running and has announced were already booked and therefore will be used, but the belief that early next year TNA will look to book more and better TV-friendly venues.

-The current WWE relationship was formed by current management, it’s not some holdover from Scott.

-Santino was brought in, in an attempt to keep Scott off TV (Anthem was not a fan of him being on screen) but he insisted and then they had the mess of 2 authority figures on screen.

-The current team did not want to be shown on screen at NXT Battleground PLE because their only agenda is improving the product not getting themselves over on TV.

-They are restructuring the company in what they believe will be a better team environment.

-NJPW and AAA partnerships still exist, but on hold due to the WWE partnership being the priority.

-Basically he explains that the recent firings – Lou Dangeli and David Sahadi – were “Scott guys” who he protected but performance wasn’t up to par.

BQ then jumped onto his own Negative BQ podcast channel this past Saturday to drop some more news as well:

-The departure of RD Evans was largely due to the company wanting to go in a different direction with the Ash By Elegance character, and a bit of a course correction to get the focus more on her then Iceman.

-There is a BELIEF-not proven- that Scott D’Amore’s camp is leaking certain negative things to certain wrestling media news sites in an attempt to make the company look bad, which is why these people inside TNA spoke to BQ to get the other side of the story out there.

-They were very happy with how the finish to Jordynne Grace and Roxanne came off at NXT Battleground.
