WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results & Review (June 21st)

WWE aired Smackdown live from Chicago Illinois & we are still on the road to Money In The Bank as we got 4 matches on tap with 3 of them being qualifying matches, we also see hometown boy CM Punk making a appearance.

Kicking off this week’s Smackdown with a video recapping the events of the World Heavyweight Title match Clash At The Castle as well as McIntyre quitting WWE this past Monday on Raw.

CM Punk says it’s great to be on live television in Chicago on a Friday night, then says speaking in front of people, speaking in front of your hometown, and promising to be a champion is pressure. He says people may think he’s crazy but before fans hear the static of his entrance music and In Living Color then asks the live crowd how many people were in the Allstate Arena in July 2011 when he promised to walk out of Chicago as WWE Champion. He says that was pressure and says he could’ve made an embarrassment of himself or his hometown but he didn’t do that.

Punk says he was told that extra security was hired for Clash At The Castle in order to prevent him from interfering in Drew McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Title match then says it was a little bit of revenge on McIntyre for kicking him and Chicago. He says he set out to make McIntyre’s life a living hell and says he planned on burying his career 6 feet under but says he didn’t think it would be as easy. He recalls McIntyre quitting WWE on Monday night and says he made bad things happen to him. He says he was looking forward to making more bad things happen to McIntyre but he took his ball and went home.

Paul Heyman interrupts Punk then tells him he would never disrespect him. He says he just arrived in the Allstate Arena and was running late and says Punk sat next to his children when he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He says despite being The Wise Man for Roman Reigns, he told the world that Punk was his best friend. He says he’s comes to him in an urgent situation then asks Punk if he can enter the ring.

Fans chant for Reigns as Punk tells Heyman he can get inside the ring. Heyman does so and hugs Punk as Heyman begins a cry before Heyman tells Punk he needed to hug him. He says driving into the Allstate Arena, he heard someone on the sports radio say that Chicago is Punk’s town. He says hearing that upset Solo Sikoa and says now that Sikoa is The Head Of The Table, he wants every town to be his town. He says he came to the ring to ask a favor of Punk and warns him that The Bloodline is coming for him. He points out all the extra security that are present then says he’s doing Punk a favor by telling him to leave the Allstate Arena.

Punk asks Heyman if he’s hearing him correctly, but before he can continue Sikoa’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring along with Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa. Sikoa tells Punk that if he wants to be on his show in his city, he has 2 options: pay his respects to The Bloodline or get the beatdown of his line. Punk asks Heyman what he wants in return for doing him a favor and Heyman tells Punk he wants him to take him with him. Punk then says he acknowledges that he sees a bunch of fake Usos cosplaying as The Bloodline and a phony Tribal Chief.
