John Cena Being Sued By Ford Motor Company
News broke tonight that a lawsuit has been filed against WWE Superstar John Cena by the Ford Motor Company. The suit was filed in a U.S. District Court in Michigan against Cena for violating the terms of a contract he signed with the company before receiving a custom-made 2017 Ford GT sports car. Ford claims that Cena violated the contract when he sold the car shortly after he obtained the vehicle for a very large profit.
The lawsuit states that Cena was required to maintain ownership of the vehicle for a minimum of two years. Cena instead sold the car not long after he bought it, which is a direct violation of the terms both parties agreed to upon signing the document.
Ford claims that “Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale and flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.”
The lawsuit also states that after Cena was informed of the contract violation, he responded, “I completely understand and as stated am willing to work with Ford to make it right. My sincerest apologies.”
It should be noted that the lawsuit also goes on to state that Cena sold the vehicle to liquidate for cash to take care of expenses.
