Indy Wrestling Promoter Claims That Matt Sydal Ripped Him Off
Former WWE Superstar Matt Sydal (fka Evan Bourne), who we reported earlier in the week just signed a new deal with Impact Wrestling, apparently missed a show in Scotland yesterday. Sydal was booked to wrestle for British Championship Wrestling but was unable to appear after missing his flight.
This of course created a major issue for the BCW Promoter, which he has made very clear on social media since the incident. According to claims made by BCW, Sydal refused to pay back the deposit that was made as a down payment guaranteeing Sydal’s appearance.
Sydal didn’t appear at the show, despite being advertised, and BCW has had a major issue with the former WWE Superstar, which they have made clear on social media. Several messages from Sydal and his Representatives were shared by BCW to their social media accounts for fans to see.
This of course prompted many fans and wrestlers themselves to chime in on the matter, and some to even tweet Sydal directly demanding him to return the deposit.
Sydal has insisted that instead of returning the deposit, that BCW can use the money instead as payment to re-book him for next year. A proposition to which BCW has said they have no interest at the time in doing.
Here is the copy of the original tweet (which may have been removed by now) from BCW on the Matt Sydal issue:
So @findevan gets a deposit for a booking then misses his flight and now thinks he should keep the deposit ?? Saying i can use it towards bringing him in next year. Im not interested so give me my $1200 back and stop being a thief to a genuine honest promoter

When a fan asked why BCW decided to air the matter on a public forum, they had the following to say:
The emails have bern going back and forward for 3 days so yes that was tried and failed and being told straight im not getting my $1200 because he has spent it

Matt Sydal in turn responded to a fan’s inquiry into the matter, you can see the convo below:
I did all I could to make it, but sometimes the universe has other plans. Wish I could have been there! I’ll be back another weekend for sure!! Lots of unfinished business in Scotland. Hopefully @FleischJerome and I can work together soon!

At this time BCW has stated on their social media that they are working directly with Sydal to resolve the matter.
We are talking with matt and working together to resolve our problems . I thank you for yhe support
