Does WWE Want Eddie Edwards When His IMPACT Deal Expires?
There have been rumors lately that once Eddie Edwards contract is up with IMPACT Wrestling in February, that there may be interest from WWE in signing him.
Dave Meltzer reported on the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that once Edwards contract runs out in February that there is a good chance he could be leaving IMPACT. WWE has shown interest in signing Edwards to NXT, even though they passed on him last year due to their then negative feelings towards ROH talents which has since changed.
Meltzer also went on to mention that Ring of Honor has also shown interest in bringing Eddie Edwards back and signing him when his IMPACT deal is finished.
Edwards is a former IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion, two time X-Division Champion, and a five time World Tag Team Champion with Davey Richards, during his time with the company. As well as being a former ROH World Champion, the inaugural ROH Television Champion, and a two time ROH Tag Team Champion also with Davey Richards. Eddie has the honor of being the first ever ROH Triple Crown winner having won every title in the company.
Edwards is currently the Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion, defeating Katsuhiko Nakajima for the belt on August 26th of this year.
Between Impact, Ring Of Honor, and Pro Wrestling NOAH, Edwards has won 13 total championships, including three World Championships, and is the only wrestler to have held the Impact, ROH, and GHC (World) Heavyweight Championships.
