Daniel Bryan Talks About WWE Not Allowing Him To Wrestle Despite Clearance From Specialists
WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan appeared on HOT 97 FM in New York City on Tuesday. During the interview Bryan discussed how WWE is hesitant to allowing him to return to in ring action. Bryan said that WWE is still standing firm on their stance, and that they are not comfortable with him getting back into the ring as an in-ring performer.
Daniel Bryan was forced into early retirement several years ago due to multiple concussions and medical concerns over his safety. WWE feels that Bryan has suffered “too many” concussions, and that is part of the reason that he has not been brought back for an in-ring role.
Bryan said that he believes there has been a lot of miseducation about concussions. Bryan also pointed out that he has been working with a concussion institute in Phoenix. He went on to explain how concussions are not a death sentence, and that once you heal completely from them that you should be able to return to performing.
At one point during the interview the host suggested that WWE could merely be trying to protect Daniel. To which Bryan responded by stating that he has been cleared by the experts that WWE sent him, and that his brain scans and EKG’s have been excellent.
Daniel Bryan added that the hardest part of the whole thing for him personally is that “all these specialist” have told him that he can wrestle, but he’s not allowed to wrestle.
