On last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, Asuka defeated RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss in a non-title match.
On today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the match from last night and speculated that WWE is building towards having Alexa drop the belt to Asuka. Meltzer added that this could possibly happen before the Royal Rumble PPV at the end of the month. He also pointed out that if they do put the belt on Asuka before the PPV that she would not be involved in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Instead many have suggested that they would expect Alexa Bliss to invoke her rematch clause setting up a match between the two at the Royal Rumble, which would remove both Superstars from the match.
