New Japan Pro Wrestling Announces Deal with Spike Chunsoft
New Japan Pro Wrestling made the much awaited video game announcement tonight at the Fan Festa 2018. Japan’s biggest promotion is not actually developing its own game, but rather has announced a deal with Spike Chunsoft, the studio behind the very positively received Fire Pro Wrestling World.
The New Japan Pro Wrestling roster, along with their arena template and various signature moves will be available in the game when it is available on the Playstation 4. A new story mode will also be added in the game in which the New Japan Pro Wrestling events will be recreated according to the New Japan Pro Wrestling official website.
A gameplay demo was shown at the event in which KUSHIDA was seen performing his signature move Back To The Future and winning the match also showcasing the New Japan Pro Wrestling arena.
The PS4 version of the game is expected to be released around Spring 2018. The PC version of the game was released on Steam on December 18 2017 and is available for $13.99. No mentions of the PC version being updated to include the NJPW content were made during the announcement but the promotional picture does feature the Steam logo, suggesting the update will be made available on this platform as well.
