PWInsider has reported that all charges stemming from an incident on December 10th, 2017 involving WWE Superstar Rich Swann have been dropped. Swann had been charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment/kidnapping after being involved in an altercation with his girlfriend, Vannarah Riggs, who wrestles under the name Su Young.
The report stated that charges against Swann have been dropped due to insufficient evidence.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had told reporters earlier that due to the WWE’s zero-tolerance policy on domestic violence, Swann would be released if convicted.
“We are just waiting on legal.” Triple H said. “We have a zero-tolerance policy on that, as you’ve seen, so he’s suspended until it is determined legally one way or the other.”
It remains to be seen how WWE will choose to proceed with Swann now that charges have been dropped.
It should be noted that WWE did reinstate Jerry Lawler in 2016 after domestic violence charges were dropped against him.
