16 Man Single Elimination Tournament Announced To Crown New WWE Cruiserweight Champion
On tonight’s episode of WWE 205 Live, the new General Manager Drake Maverick, the wrestler formerly known as Rockstar Spud, announced a tournament to crown a new WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
The tournament will be a 16 Man Single Elimination Tournament that begins on tonight’s episode of 205 Live and will conclude with the finals taking place at WrestleMania 34.
The first two matches of the tournament were held tonight with Cedric Alexander take on Gran Metalik, and “TJP” TJ Perkins going up against Tyler Bate.

The first two matches of the Cruiserweight Tournament saw Cedric Alexander and “TJP” TJ Perkins advance on to the second round after scoring the wins in their respected matchups.
Next week’s episode of 205 Live will feature two more first round matches as Hideo Itami faces Roderick Strong, and Lince Dorado will go up against Kalisto.
