WWE Had To Get Special Clearance For Ronda Rousey’s Theme Music
At this past Sunday’s Royal Rumble PPV, Ronda Rousey made her highly anticipated debut with WWE. WWE used “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett at the Royal Rumble as the entrance music for Rousey, much like she had used in UFC for years.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne is reporting that WWE had to receiving special clearance from Joan Jett’s Camp before they used the song for Rousey’s entrance at the Royal Rumble.
As for her entrance music, I'm told WWE had to get special clearance from Joan Jett's camp for Ronda Rousey to use "Bad Reputation" at the Royal Rumble Sunday night in Philly as she did for years in the UFC.

As of right now there is no word on whether or not WWE plans to use the song going forward as Rousey’s official entrance music, or if they plan on creating an original piece instead. The thought is that the reason WWE opted to use the song for her debut is because it was already synonymous with Rousey from her time in UFC and that fans would instantly relate it to her when they heard it.
If WWE does plan to use “Bad Reputation” going forward they will have to pay royalties for the rights to continue usage, which is something the company does not like to do.
