UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg’s website reported the following:
“Current Pound For Pound #1 female fighter in boxing according to Ringside Magazine, Cecilia Braekhus told reporters that her management has been in talks with the UFC about setting up a boxing match between the her and Cris Cyborg.”

There are several possibilities in play here.
The fact that Cyborg’s website didn’t verify the report but posted it is very interesting.
Cyborg’s team is known to use her website and social media to garner publicity and to help her public perception.
As we know, if enough money is in play, UFC will listen. The possibility of a Braekhus vs. Cyborg boxing fight is intriguing but will not come close to the earning potential the 2017 Mayweather vs McGregor fight made (rumored to be $30-$50 million for UFC and $100-$140 million to McGregor).
With Zuffa Boxing (led by Dana White and under the UFC ownership umbrella) starting in 2018, this could be an interesting first attempt at branding the new Boxing promotion.
