On last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was announced to be in attendance for a Face-to-Face altercation with Roman Reigns, who will challenge Lesnar for his Universal Title at WrestleMania 34.
Reigns cut what was arguably the best promo of his career last night when he “shot” on Brock Lesnar and how he was not at RAW last night to have the faceoff segment that had been advertised.

On today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the segment, he stated that he is not exactly sure what happened there but that Brock Lesnar was indeed booked for the show. Brock is next scheduled to appear on RAW in two weeks from Milwaukee, he is not booked to be on next week’s RAW however.
“If it was a last minute angle change or something happened, I don’t know. That’s what I know so far.” Said Meltzer.
Regarding Roman’s promo last night, and whether or not it was actually a “shoot”, Meltzer says that it was not and that the entire promo was scripted.
“What he did in the ring was obviously scripted. The question is, why did the script change? Did somebody come up with an idea?”
Meltzer went on to explain that this is the exact same thing that happened three years ago when Lesnar walked out of a scheduled WWE taping and disappeared when his contract was coming to an end. Vince ended up demanding that Brock show up and appear at an event. Brock did eventually show up and ended up doing WrestleMania that year and signed a new contract with the company in the process.
Meltzer went on to elaborate in more detail how Lesnar was advertised to appear on last night’s RAW for a face-to-face confrontation with Roman Reigns that was in the original script for the show.
“There was a confrontation in the first script, the second script. They were advertising him in the market. Granted, they do false advertising and stuff like that but if they advertised a guy like that they might have him do the speech and – the point is he would appear before the people, and he didn’t appear before the people. Again. I don’t know what that means.”
