Possible Fastlane Plans For John Cena & Match Against The Undertaker At WrestleMania
On the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, the topic of John Cena’s promo on last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW was brought up and Dave Meltzer mentions that the plan is still for John Cena to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. Despite Cena claiming last night in his promo that WWE won’t allow that match to happen.
“It is definitely still in the books, for anyone that’s asking and Undertaker is still training for it.”
Meltzer speculated that with Cena scheduled to appear at next month’s Fastlane PPV that Cena could possible work a match against Nakamura, which would in some way play into the build for his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
“What I am figuring is he will be in the Fastlane Pay-Per-View for a match. So they can’t – whatever that match may be – if they are doing that five way, the only match I could think of with him is Nakamura for the title shot at AJ and loses again. I don’t know. That is all speculation, but it seems to make the most sense to me. He’s on the Fastlane card, so it makes no sense to announce a WrestleMania match, given whatever happens at Fastlane is playing into the storyline to get to WrestleMania and that match hasn’t happened yet.”
Meltzer also noted that it is possible that they could add Cena to the WWE Championship Match at Fastlane, but that Nakamura is the only top star without a match.
