On today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that on last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW Asuka was scheduled to reveal which Women’s Champion she planned to challenge at WrestleMania 34. That segment obviously never happened and was apparently dropped altogether.
“…there was scheduled also to be Asuka making her announcement about WrestleMania which did not happen on this show. That was another thing that got changed.”
Co-host Bryan Alvarez speculated that the announcement could come after Charlotte defends her WWE SmackDown LIVE Women’s Title against Ruby Riott at Fastlane next month, which Meltzer agreed with.
It has been previously reported that the original plans were to have Charlotte defend her title against Asuka, while Nia Jax challenged Alexa Bliss for the RAW belt at Wrestlemania.
