More On The Rumored Match Between John Cena & Rey Mysterio At WrestleMania
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, who first reported the rumored match between John Cena and Rey Mysterio for this year’s WrestleMania, has issued another statement regarding any speculation that he was fed false information by WWE into helping trick fans into believing that the company wouldn’t allow a John Cena vs. The Undertaker match to happen.
Barrasso also went on to add that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and that he would not cover a story without proper sourcing and confirmation.
You can see Barrasso’s statement regarding the rumors embedded in a series of tweets below:
This is wild. I reported the story based on confirmation from three sources I trust within the business and have been reliable. Unfortunately for your narrative, an ex-F4W forum poster is not one of my sources.

I take a lot of pride in covering the business of pro wrestling, and I would not report any story without proper sourcing and confirmation. I stand by my story, and I’m here to debunk any mysteries/myths/questions if you would like to ask.

I have a lot of respect for Dave, but I stand by my sources.

Let’s be honest, I’m not going to convince you otherwise on this tweet. I stand by it, and we’ll let time be the judge. Thanks for reaching out directly.

It has been previously reported by The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, and numerous other media outlets including Bodyslam.net‘s own Brad Shepard that the plan for WrestleMania is still John Cena vs. The Undertaker, shooting down Barrasso’s claim that WWE is planning Mysterio vs. Cena instead.
