Rey Mysterio Possibly Out Of Action For Six-Months
As was previously reported, Rey Mysterio suffered a torn bicep over the weekend during a match Friday night for Northeast Wrestling. Mysterio teamed with ROH’s Flip Gordon against former WWE Superstar Joey Mercury & Impact Wrestling’s Caleb Konley.
On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Mysterio’s injury and mentions that he doesn’t necessarily have to undergo surgery to fix the torn bicep. Meltzer adds that wrestlers have worked with torn biceps before, and that Mysterio could possibly still do the Long Beach show for New Japan and then start with WWE sometime after WrestleMania.
“I don’t know what decision he is going to make. WWE usually wants talents to get the surgery.” says Meltzer.
The belief is that if Mysterio does indeed get the surgery that he could be out of action for around six months. However nothing is currently known as to the exact extent of Mysterio’s injury which could determine what decision he makes going forward.
