WWE Superstar John Cena has been confirmed for role of Duke Nukem in upcoming movie based off the popular video game.
The project’s producer Andrew Form confirmed Cena’s role as the title character recently in an interview with CinemaBlend. Form also added that the script for the film is not finalized, and that Cena could always pull out from the project later if he is unhappy with the direction of the role.
“Yeah, that’s what we’re working with now. He is. Yes. We don’t have a script yet, so that is confirmed at this point but if he reads the script and he doesn’t like the script I’m sure there’s ways that he could pull out, but right now he’s our guy.”
For those who are unaware, Duke Nukem is a video game character from a series of games that debuted in 1991. Nukem, the protagonist in the series is a muscled up, blonde flat top wearing anti-hero whose job is to save the world from aliens.
