It was reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it appears as though WWE probably will not plan to continue the reunion for The Shield upon Dean Ambrose’s return from injury.
It was reported earlier in the week that WWE decided to pull Dean Ambrose from his scheduled WrestleMania AXXESS appearance, which led to speculation that he may have encountered a setback in his recovery following surgery late last year.
It should be noted that an upcoming WWE DVD release list includes a title which further indicates that WWE doesn’t plan to continue The Shield reunion is one called “The Rise and Fall of The Shield”. The DVD is scheduled to be released on July 9th, which is right around the time that WWE starts their build for SummerSlam.
It should also be pointed out that historically when WWE releases a DVD with a similar title, the emphasis of the project is usually on the downfall, and not the rise.
