Speculation On Title Change At NXT TakeOver: News Orleans & Main Roster Call Up
On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live, co-host Bryan Alvarez was answering questions from fans when he was asked about the possibility of Ember Moon dropping the NXT Women’s Title to Shayna Baszler this Saturday night at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, and then being called up to the main roster.
Alvarez responded by speculating that he believes that a title change will happen at TakeOver, but he does not know if Ember Moon would be called up to the main roster following WrestleMania 34.
“I think that Shayna is winning at TakeOver. I don’t know if Ember is being called up.”
Alvarez goes on to explain in-depth how he feels that Ember Moon has had a pretty flat run as NXT Women’s Champion, and how they did not do her any favors with her booking.
“I don’t want to be that guy, but I am all the time, so I will again. I told everyone about this Ember Moon thing.. They messed it up from day one, and they have been messing it up since. Like, she could never beat Asuka. Asuka leaves. She wins. They even had a deal where Asuka showed up and stole her spotlight when handing her the belt. I thought “they got to be doing something with this.” They pushed her as a weak champion for her entire reign. She barely squeaked out a flash pin over Shayna after getting man-handled in the ring. They have done her zero favors, in like a year now. So yeah, her reign has been flat and now they’re probably going to beat her at TakeOver, and then you got to rebuild her or something. Or send her up and start over.”
