The Undertaker vs. John Cena Build For WrestleMania Said To Be Vince McMahon’s Story
In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discusses the match between The Undertaker and John Cena at WrestleMania 34 and indicates that the match has been planned for months, and that the build for this match is Vince McMahon’s “story”.
“The audience knows he’s going to show up, and this is the “story” that brings him to “kick Cena’s ass”…”
Meltzer continued by saying that, “They are also of the belief announcing Taker in advance won’t compel anyone to purchase the network, as anyone inclined is getting the network for the show anyway. This is Vince McMahon’s story, and he seems very happy with it. I think part of it is that Vince McMahon can say, “people are invested in the mere chance Undertaker will show up”.”
So it appears as though the match is still on as has been planned for months, despite reports from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson that The Undertaker is scheduled to appear but not to actually wrestle on the show.
We will keep you updated as more information regarding the planned match between The Undertaker and John Cena at WrestleMania 34 becomes available.
