Alberto El Patron No-Shows Main Event Of Last Night’s IMPACT vs. Lucha Underground Show
Former WWE Superstar Alberto El Patron (Alberto del Rio) was a no-show for last night’s IMPACT Wrestling vs Lucha Underground in which he was scheduled to perform in the Main Event.
Alberto El Patron was scheduled to team alongside Pentagon Jr. against the team of Austin Aries and Fenix in the Main Event, however the match was changed when El Patron was a no-show for the event. The Main Event of the IMPACT vs Lucha Underground show instead saw a triple threat match that featured Pentagon Jr vs. Fenix vs. Austin Aries. There was absolutely no mention and no explanation given for El Patron’s absence.
On today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentions that he saw Alberto El Patron in New Orleans yesterday walking around downtown, and that he is DEFINITELY in town for WrestleMania Weekend.
“Alberto no-showed, and we saw him last night.. and he’s suppose to main event against Aries. Oh my god. Those poor guys. He’s supposed to main event the pay-per-view on April 22nd. I guess we’re going to have to figure out what’s going to happen.”
Meltzer continued by adding:
“He was walking the streets, we saw him last night. How do you no-show when you’re in the city?”
For those who have been speculating that this could mean that El Patron is heading back to WWE or that he is going to show up at WrestleMania, Dave Meltzer confirmed that he is still under contract with IMPACT Wrestling and that he probably wouldn’t be allowed to just show up at WrestleMania.
