WWE Gives Update On Rusev’s Status With The Company
With the recent new regarding Rusev’s removal from the Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble, as well as Rusev removing all references of WWE from his twitter account and changing his social media handles to no longer reflect his WWE persona Rusev, rumors have began to make rounds that the former two-time United States Champion has asked for his release or that he has been released from WWE.
In an update to rumors regarding Rusev’s WWE status, Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina is reporting that he has reached out to WWE for a comment on Rusev’s current WWE status, and says that “Wrestling fans, I asked the WWE if Rusev has left the company. WWE said those rumors are not true, he is still with the company and he will be in the Royal Rumble match at Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. #RusevDay”

While it had been speculated that Rusev would be placed into the 50-Man Royal Rumble match instead of his advertised Casket Match with The Undertaker, and it now appears as though that is indeed the case.
