WWE Possibly Looking to Change Up Commentary Teams In The Future
Currently, RAW has a three-man commentary booth of Corey Graves, Johnathan Coachman, and Michael Cole. On the Smackdown side, they have Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, and Tom Phillips.
According to a new report, WWE could be looking at making some changes to the commentary teams in the future.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Newsletter Observer, he states that currently, WWE is big on diversity when it comes to the broadcast teams. He says that the company is hiring based on fitting into specific demographics.
Meltzer adds that the company will eventually want to bring in a Woman to do color commentary. He mentioned no specific names but the WWE has tried a few candidates in Beth Phoenix; having her commentate the Mixed Match Challenge and also the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. Besides Phoenix they have also tried out Lita; who has recently called matches in the Mae Young Classic.
