WWE Issues Statement On Our Exclusive Report Of Sami Zayn Not Traveling To Saudi Arabia

On April 26th, BodySlam Managing Editor Brad Shepard exclusively reported that the reason WWE Superstar Sami Zayn did not travel to Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble event is because he’s a Syrian Muslim and relations between Saudi Arabia and Syria have long been strained.

Today, WWE responded to that report with the following statement:

“WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.”

WWE’s statement appears to confirm Shepard’s original report.
