New Japan Pro Wrestling Welcomes New President
According to Tokyo Sports, New Japan Pro Wrestling has hired a Dutch businessman as the president. The new president Harold Meij, who is 54 years old, is the first foreigner to become president of NJPW.
A lot of wrestling fans don’t know much about the new president. Meij is a successful businessman, who has worked for Coco-cola, Sunstar, Unilever Japan, Heineken, and Takara Tomy. Meij last job has earned him the president role in NJPW.
A failing Takara Tomy toy company hired Meij as CEO in 2014, which had the worst financial year loss. The Takara Tomy toy company allowed Meij to implement his innovative ideas and within no time the company recovered from the loss and successfully turned into a profit making toy company. Meij earned the position of CEO and President in Takara Tomy, and by the end of 2017, the stock has tripled.
Harold Meij has decided to step down as Cheif Operating Officer of Takara Tomy for some unknown reasons.
Meij has spent more than 25 years in Japan so that he can speak Japanese fluently and he is a die-hard fan of Wrestling. NJWP authorities have huge expectations from Harold Meij, who have earned the position because of his innovative ideas and marketing approach.
He is expected to take over the office of NJWP as President from next month.
