Has WWE Lost Interest In Former Two-Time NXT Tag Champs?
Mike Johnson discussed The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) losing to RAW Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt on this week’s RAW during a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite.
Johnson noted that things have not been great for The Revival regarding their position within WWE since returning from injury following their initial RAW Main Roster debut.
After the former two-time NXT Tag Team Champions made their debut on RAW, they were hit with a string of bad luck. Dash Wilder suffered a broken jaw 11 days after they made their main roster debut while working an NXT Tour in the Carolinas as part of their NXT farewell. Wilder had to have his jaw wired shut and was out of action for eight weeks. This stalled the push the team had received prior too and upon their call up. Shortly after Wilder returned from injury, Scott Dawson suffered a ruptured right bicep which required surgery and kept him out of action for 6 months.
Regarding The Revival’s current position on with WWE, Mike Johnson said:
“They are wasting Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder away. They have had the worst luck in the world. They came up, they started to get a push. Scott Dawson got hurt. I mean Dash Wilder got hurt and he came back. Immediately after he came back, Dash Wilder broke his jaw and it was just one thing after the other. They have had bad luck and the company is obviously uninterested in them.”
Johnson also went on to suggest that WWE should take The Revival off of WWE TV Programming (TV/PPV) for about six months having them only work house shows (non-televised WWE Live Events). Then once the company has plans creatively for the former NXT Champions bring them back to weekly television.
