New Details About FOX & WWE’s Massive Deal For SmackDown
New details are coming out regarding the deal that was reported earlier today between WWE and FOX which will see SmackDown move to the Fox Network when their current contract with NBC Universal/USA Network expires in October of next year.
A report published today by The Hollywood Reporter revealed that WWE’s new deal with FOX for SmackDown is three times the current deal that they have with NBC Universal. FOX’s deal with WWE for SmackDown is also said to be a 5 year deal that is reportedly for $205 million per year. That would put the total amount on the deal for SmackDown over $1 billion.
Additionally, we reported earlier that upon moving to FOX that SmackDown would also air on Friday night’s instead of Tuesday’s. Currently there is no word on whether or not WWE will continue to run the program live or if SmackDown will be prerecorded.
