It was confirmed on last night’s WWE Smackdown that WWE Champion AJ Styles will defend the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing Match at WWE’s Money In The Bank PPV.
AJ Styles commented on the upcoming match via his official Twitter account:
Since November of 2017 I have stood as the @WWE Champion. And whether the match was No DQ, 2 vs. 1, steel cage, triple threat, or a dream…
I’ve stood tall.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura’s feud began when Nakamura became the winner of the 2018 Royal Rumble match earning the right to choose who he would face at WrestleMania. The first match of their series was at Wrestlemania 34 for the WWE Championship. Nakamura was unsuccessful and lost, only to ended up giving Styles a low blow after the match. Nakamura was given a second title shot at the Greatest Royal Rumble but failed again. Nakamura did not stop until he earned third opportunity to face Styles at Backlash for the WWE Championship title, again Shinsuke left the arena disappointed.
At Money in the Bank, AJ Styles agreed to face Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship, and with this match hopes to settle this feud once and for all.
