WWE Planning On Bringing Back Evolution PPV Annually, Reason The Event Is In October, And Triple H Comments On Possibility Of Yearly Event
Triple H recently spoke with Sky Sports, during the interview he was asked if WWE had plans to bring back the recently announced all women’s PPV Evolution annually.
Triple H as expected danced around the question, saying that was a question that would have to be answered at a later date.
Regarding WWE bringing back Evolution as an annual PPV, Triple H said:
“It’s a question to be answered down the road. Do we need to have a women’s only event? No – just like we don’t need a men’s only event or anything else. I think that the opportunity is there whoever is the best, the most prominent box office attraction that is the main event.
“It doesn’t matter if that’s Raw, Smackdown, NXT, WrestleMania. So can they have their own event? Can it be a mainstay? Yes, and if our fans want it and it’s the right thing then we’ll give it to them. The WWE universe will dictate to us what the approach is.”
This is interesting considering reports that came out earlier in the week regarding the fact that WWE does indeed plan to bring the all women’s PPV back as an annual event, and that the reason the PPV is being held in October is not a coincidence, as the event lines up with Breast Cancer Awareness Month as WWE has had a long running partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Our friends over at the No Holds Barred Podcast discussed this earlier in the week on their podcast. Regarding WWE’s plans to hold Evolution annually, Joseph Peisich said:
“Several sources have told me that this show in October will be done every year because of Susan G. Komen. You know October, Breast Cancer Awareness month so they want to keep this lady’s exclusive pay-per-view. I’ve been told that if it’s successful then there will be two of them per year.”
