Details Revealed Of What WWE Offered Tommy Dreamer To Close House Of Hardcore
It is no secret that WWE and Vince McMahon are not fond of competition, having eliminated the only real competition the company has faced when Vince purchased ECW and WCW back in 2001.
Well, it appears as though with the now bottomless pockets of WWE are back at their old ways of looking to buy out promotions that they see as being somewhat of competition.
On the latest episode of the “Fired Up” podcast, Bodyslam.net‘s Brad Shepard revealed details of an offer that WWE made to Tommy Dreamer to close his House of Hardcore promotion.
Regarding WWE’s play to buyout Tommy Dreamer and close up House of Hardcore, Shepard said:
“While they don’t consider promotions like House Of Hardcore to be serious WCW-like competition, I’m just talking about promotions that have popular talent with fans with a streaming service like Tommy Dreamer’s promotion does.”
“So Tommy Dreamer was offered in the ballpark of $1 million to close House Of Hardcore. I think that’s big news because what we’re seeing is a trend of WWE eliminating competition.”
