As you may have noticed on last night’s episode of RAW, during Elias’ segment he ended up calling out The Rock in his hometown of Miami. And apparently that was not just a coincidence.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the segment that featured Elias calling out The Rock, and insulting him in his hometown. Meltzer went on to note that a potential match between The Rock and Elias could always be a possibility down the line, and how WWE could easily throw that together.
Regarding Elias calling The Rock out last night in Miami, Meltzer said:
“I don’t think it’s a coincidence, I think that may be the idea that they’re building towards. Wow, it is good for him. For him to be in a match with The Rock, it’s a positive.”
During the discussion about Elias’ segment last night, it was noted how easy the build up for this match would be, and how fun the musical battles and improvised segments could potentially be. However, Meltzer went on to point out that if The Rock was going to come back and get paid millions of dollars from WWE that he wouldn’t want to do just an “average match”.
