WWE Superstar Becky Lynch recently spoke to The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast, during the interview Becky was asked about the recent rumors and reports of WWE possibly introducing Women’s Tag Tea Titles. Becky responded by revealing that she has been pitching the idea to WWE Officials also, and she believes it would be a wonderful step in the progression of the women’s division.
Regarding potential WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Becky said:
“Oh yes, absolutely. I am constantly thinking about it and brainstorming and pitching for it. Even if I am involved or not, I just think that it would be a wonderful step in the women’s progression. When I say involved in it, I mean I’m going after the women’s championship right now and that is where I want to be, but in the future I would love to see it.”
Becky Lynch went on to expand on the concept, saying that WWE could pull the Women’s Tag Team Division off if they combined all the women from RAW & SmackDown.
“We have all these women in the Mae Young Classic and have so many girls. We still have a shallow side, not shallow, as in there are a few women on either side of RAW and SmackDown. What do we have have like eight to ten on either side? So that is kind of tricky to do a tag title and women’s title, but if we can combine and we’re able to go through all these different things and it connects, I don’t know if that’s going to be possible.”
It had been rumored that WWE has been planning on introducing the Women’s Tag Team belts for weeks now. It was even heavily speculated that their announcement was going to be part of Stephanie McMahon’s “historic” announcement a couple weeks ago on RAW. Now reports have shifted to the announcement possibly being made at the all women’s EVOLUTION PPV in October, but that remains to be seen.
