Glenn Jacobs, or as most of us know him as WWE Superstar Kane, overwhelmingly defeated Democratic nominee Linda Haney to become the new Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Going into yesterday’s Election Jacobs was already leading the vote by a huge amount via early and absentee voting. Jacobs is to be sworn in on September 1st, and he will replace his fellow Republican Tim Burchett, who is now running for Congress.
WWE sent out a tweet earlier today congratulating Jacobs on his political victory becoming the next mayor of Knox County.

Jacobs gave his victory speech Thursday night saying that his decision to run for office was initially met with “pretty resounding laughter” from numerous politicians.

Jacobs also praised his opponent Linda Haney for running a campaign in a county that hard to win as a Democrat, as Knox County is known to be primarily Republican.
