Dolph Ziggler Offered New Contract Sunday Prior To SummerSlam But Rejects Offer Opting Not To Re-Sign
Last night at SummerSlam we saw the Intercontinental Title Match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins open the show. Ziggler was unable to defend his belt, as Rollins connected with the curb stomp and scored the pinfall to regain the WWE IC Title.
The match was discussed on the latest episode of Barn Burner’s No Holds Barred podcast, and some light might have been shed on why Rollins was victorious, and apparently it had nothing to do with Dean Ambrose being thrust back into the picture with his return from injury last week.
Joseph Peisich revealed that the reason Ziggler dropped the belt more than likely was due to the fact that Ziggler was offered a contract earlier in the day Sunday, which he turned down and did not re-sign with the company.
Regarding Dolph Ziggler’s contract situation and his loss at SummerSlam, Peisich said:
“Dolph Ziggler has not re-signed with WWE. He did have a meeting today about his contract situation. They offered him a deal and he didn’t accept it. No wonder why he dropped the title.”
