WWE Announces That The First-Ever NXT UK Women’s Champion Will Be Crowned This Weekend

It has been speculated as to when WWE would crown the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion, and if the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion would be decided at the upcoming all women’s Evolution PPV. Well we now have answers to all of those questions.

WWE announced earlier today that the first ever NXT Women’s Champion will be decided this weekend. The announcement said, ““BREAKING: The first ever #NXTUK Women’s Champion will be decided this weekend at #NXTUKBirmingham! Be part of history, tickets available now: https://bit.ly/2OVrd5s””

This Saturday and Sunday the NXT UK brand will be a part of the Insomnia Festival in Birmingham, England. WWE will tape the tournament to crown the first NXT UK Women’s champion at the tapings.

Set to appear at the event are NXT Talents Dakota Kai, Xia Brookside, Toni Storm, Killer Kelly, Jinny & Isla Dawn, and Rhea Ripley. However, it is not known at the time of writing whether or not these women are participants in the Title Tournament or if they are just booked to appear on the event.

It was also announced that the NXT UK Women’s Title will be defended at the upcoming WWE Evolution PPV in October. It had previously been reported that at one point the website for the venue had been advertising a NXT UK Women’s Championship Match, however it was not known if the finals of the tournament would be held on the event.
