WWE Officially Announces The Shield For Upcoming Super Show-Down Event
On this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW we saw The Shield reunite.
Fresh of his first Universal Title defense over Finn Balor, Roman Reigns was saved by Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, when came to his aid after he had been attacked by Braun Strowman, who he was planning to cash in his MITB briefcase. The group ultimately was able to fight off Strowman, and eventually were able to hit their triple team powerbomb on Braun, putting him through the announce table in the process. The Show closed with the trio celebrating as they did their fist bump hand gesture deal.
This was the second night in a row that Strowman’s plans to cash in his MITB briefcase were thrwarted.
Many were left wondering what the future would be for the group, if this was a one time deal or if WWE had plans in place for the group to be around for awhile. With WWE releasing three new Shield T-Shirts last night following RAW, one of which included “Brooklyn” on it, which was the site of their reunion, signs seemed to indicate that this was not a one-off and that The Shield would be around for some time.
That now appears to indeed be the case, as WWE announced Tuesday night that The Shield would be in action at Super Show-Down in Australia. Nothing was said however as to what match or matches they will be involved in, but we now know that the plan is for The Shield to be around for the next couple months at least.
WWE made the following announcement on their website Tuesday night, announcing The Shield for the upcoming Super Show-Down event scheduled for October 6th in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground:
“The Hounds of Justice will be unleashed at WWE Super Show-Down. United and stronger than ever, The Shield are set to make their way into Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, Oct. 6.
It was almost six years ago when Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose disrupted the WWE Universe with their game-changing debut before going on to become one of the most dominant factions in WWE history. Picking up from where they left off last year, they look to be stronger than ever. Though it is not known just who the destructive trio may face, when The Hounds of Justice enter the Melbourne Cricket Ground, all-out bedlam won’t be far behind no matter who is standing across the ring.
The brothers-in-arms will be among the largest collection of WWE Superstars and Legends to ever appear in Australia, as WWE Super Show-Down takes place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday, Oct. 6. Tickets for WWE Super Show-Down are available now via ticketek.com.au. Further ticket information is available at tegdainty.com. Don’t miss the monumental event, streaming live on WWE Network and available on pay-per-view around the world!”
