WWE Superstar Rowan Suffers Torn Bicep At SummerSlam Will Miss 4-6 Months
On Monday it was reported that WWE Superstar Rowan, one half of the SmackDown Live tag team The Bludgeon Brothers, suffered an inury to his right bicep Sunday night when they successfully defended their SmackDown Tag Title at SummerSlam against The New Day.
Preliminary reports yesterday speculated that Rowan suffered a torn bicep at some point during the match, and that the word going around backstage prior to yesterday’s SmackDown tapings was that he would be heading to Birmingham, Alabama sometime this week for surgery. It was also reported that he would miss some where around four to six months of in-ring action.
I was a gust Tuesday night on Barn Burner‘s No Holds Barred podcast and we discussed Rowans injury, as well as The Bludgeon Brother’s dropping the SmackDown Tag Titles on SmackDown. During the segment, Joseph Peisich confirmed that Rowan did indeed suffer a torn right bicep, and that he will require surgery to fix the tear. Joseph also confirmed the preliminary reports that he will be out of action for four to six months, but added that there is a slight chance he could sooner.
As we saw on SmackDown LIVE last night, Rowan was able to work through the injury, be it a very light workload in the match. However, The Bludgeon Brother’s ultimately lost the match seeing The New Day crowned as the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Having The Bludgeon Brothers drop the belts last night further indicates that the reports on Rowan’s injury appear to be accurate. We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding Rowan’s injury.
