Why Did WWE Choose To Not Use Brock Lesnar At All Monday On RAW?
As we saw this week on RAW, Brock Lesnar did not appear on the broadcast after being advertised for months. It was then reported that Lesnar actually left NY following SummerSlam on Sunday and flew back to his home in Canada.
It was also reported that the segment which was suppose to be for Brock Lesnar, was instead given to Triple H for his promo about his match against The Undertaker in 8 weeks.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on Brock Lesnar not appearing on RAW. Meltzer said:
“Okay the deal with Brock on Monday was that they just couldn’t come up with any viable idea to put him on television.”
“Why would you advertise him for months and have no idea how to use him? I can not answer that question, but the idea is what do you do with him?”
“He already fulfilled all of his matches and they didn’t want to put him on Raw, so that wasn’t even an option. You know he signed for 2 more matches, he did his 2 matches. That’s that. He cost way too much to put on Raw.”
It was also noted that even if Lesnar was leaving for the UFC to fight Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Title next year, which he is, that WWE could have still used his last appearance to book an angle or set up a storyline where Brock came in and destroys everyone ultimately leading to his suspension. It was pointed out however that WWE has already done that, and did not want to put him over strong since he isn’t going to be around for an unknown amount of time.
