NXT UK Superstar Toni Storm Reportedly Suffers Injury
(NOTE: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS NXT UK SPOILERS)
Female wrestler Toni Storm was recently featured as a competitor in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, and is a participant in the tournament to crown the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion.
As we reported yesterday, WWE taped episodes of NXT UK in Birmingham, England on Sunday which featured the semi-finals and finals of the NXT UK Women’s Title tournament. Toni Storm was victorious in her semi-final match, and advanced to the finals against Rhea Ripley. Storm was unsuccessful in the match, losing to Ripley.
It now appears as though Storm may have suffered an injury during the tapings, according to Bryan Alvarez’s report on Wrestling Observer Live. Alvarez said while he does not have a lot of information on the injury, that he had heard that she was hurt. He added that he wasn’t sure of her status for the upcoming Evolution PPV where she will be competing in the finals of this year’s Mae Young Classic against Io Shirai. Storm has however been pulled from some upcoming shows.
Regarding Toni Storms injury, Alvarez said:
“I did hear that. I heard that she was hurt, I didn’t hear about Evolution. I heard she got hurt. She got pulled from some shows. So I’ll try to follow up on that but I did hear something about that.”
We will keep you updated when we hear more regarding Toni Storm’s injury and her status for the MYC finals at Evolution.
