Raw Recap For August 27th, 2018

(Segment 1) Roman Reigns Kicks Off Raw: Braun said he wanted Roman out in the ring at 8pm and that’s what we got. Braun said he’s not cashing in tonight when Roman said they should match tonight. Braun Strowman officially cashes in his contract for Hell In A Cell, inside the cell for the Universal Title. Roman vs Braun inside the Cell for the Title is set for HIAC PPV. After that Dolph and Drew came out to whine about losing the IC Title. Baron Corbin then came out and set up the tag team main event for tonight, Braun and Roman vs Dolph and Drew.

(Segment 2) Finn Balor vs Baron Corbin: Baron Corbin announced this match right after he announced the tag match. Balor “didn’t know about this match” until Baron announced it and was “caught off guard” when Corbin announced it. Obviously Balor knew about it and it was just storyline. I can really care less about this match because we’ve seen them face each other 3 times already and this match doesn’t have any stakes in it’s 4 time around. Balor won via DQ after Baron hit him in the midsection with a chair. Corbin then restarted the match as a no DQ match. Corbin ended up pinning Balor right after the bell rang again with the End Of Days.

(Segment 3) Sasha Banks vs Dana Brooke: This match I could care less about because Dana Brooke is terrible at wrestling and rides the catering bus every Monday so this match meant nothing. Sasha made Brooke tap out in a match of the night nominee…NOT.

(Segment 4) Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens (IC Title): This was one of the few high points from the night filled with boring and meaningless matches. I had high hopes for this match because both of these guys can perform really well. The crowd was hot for this match and it were rightful to do so because it was a good match. Rollins retained his title, but the crowd really wanted Owens.

(Segment 5) B-Team vs Revival: We’ve seen these teams face each other a lot so I wasn’t really expected much from this match and it also didn’t have any stakes. Revival picked up the win and will face the B-Team next week for the titles. I am over this feud and don’t get why they didn’t have the Revival win at Summerslam.

Segment 6) Natalya vs Alicia Fox: This is yet another match with no storyline and these two are just bad performers. These two are already hard to watch so I could care less about this match. Ronda and Trish joined Nattie ringside, Mickie and Alexa joined Fox ringside. Nattie got the win via submission.

(Segment 7) Bobby Lashley vs The Ascension: This match added nothing to the night, had no storyline, and was really boring. Lashley took the win.

(Segment 8) Dean Ambrose vs Jinder Mahal: This was a no brainer match on who would win. I didn’t think this match was going to be good anyway because Jinder isn’t a good performer. Ambrose hits the Dirty Deeds for the win.

(Segment 9) Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman vs Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler: This match didn’t get a lot of time because it started 5 minutes before Raw was supposed to end. WWE has such bad timing with events and matches. This match really didn’t have much action and didn’t add much to the night. Strowman never got in the match either which was boring. The match ended in DQ with Roman and Braun winning because Dolph and Drew couldn’t stop beating up Reigns.

Overall Raw Grade: C-
