Drake was introduced as AOP’s manager, while Lio Rush was introduced as Bobby Lashley’s, which has potential.
Mike Johnson discussed this on PW Insider Elite’s audio update stating that while WWE used them for different reasons, it might have come to down hard working on social media paying off. This is what he said:
“In the case of Drake Maverick, the decision was made that they wanted a manager or they wanted a mouthpiece for Authors Of Pain.”
“In the case of Lio Rush, I was told that someone in creative saw some promos that he cut on Twitter and brought it to the attention of WWE management and said, ‘look at this guy, look at what he’s doing on his own. Imagine if we channelled that and used him in a specific role.”
We will have to wait and see how they perform as managers.
