At NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Jay White in order to retain his right to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Champion at Wrestle Kingdom 13 at the Tokyo Dome. Kenny Omega also successfully retained his IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the event, in a triple threat match against Kota Ibushi and Cody Rhodes.
So the stage is set for the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 13, which will put The Ace Hiroshi Tanahashi against Kenny Omega for the title.
Kenny, after retaining the title and before heading out to the back, was interrupted by Tanahashi. Tanahashi took the mic and said they might have some philosophical differences about wrestling, but they will put it all on the line at Wrestle Kingdom 13 before heading out of the ring. Omega did his “goodbye and good night” sign-off to close out the show.
