Sami Callihan Talks About Messing Up In WWE By Caring Too Much
Sami Callihan has made a name for himself thanks to his ruthless style and disposition into insanity. But when he was in WWE as Solomon Crowe, he wasn’t who he wanted to be.
On Busted Open Radio, he revealed how he ruined his time in WWE due to the fact that he had a constant need to please everyone around him. He, however, fixed this issue after requesting his release in 2015. This is what he had to say:
“I was the first one to say that I became for lack of a better term, a b*tch when I was there. I wasn’t who I am in real life. I wasn’t who I am as a businessman. I went in there, tried to make everybody happy. Tried to be the team player, tried to be the guy to do an interview, tried to be the guy to do anything that was asked of him, tried to be the guy to make every single person down there happy from the agents to the coach to another agent. I had 15 different people pulling me in 15 different ways so when I went out there I’m the first one to say I didn’t look like who I was supposed to be. So that’s on me.”
“But at the same point I wasn’t really given that opportunity to go, ‘You know what? Screw this go out there and be Sami Callihan. They didn’t sign Sami Callihan, they signed the buzz of Sami Callihan and they said, ‘You know what? Let’s put Sami Callihan in a box right now and do something different.”
“I wish I would have gone in there and not cared as much because I gave myself a lot of headaches caring so much about changing the business or cared so much about being the top guy that I allowed myself to be not who I wanted to be.”
Thankfully Callihan has found his own stride now and is happy where he is right now.
