How Will WWE Book The Universal Title Match At Crown Jewel Now That Roman Reigns Is Out Battling Leukemia
With Roman Reigns relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship last night on RAW due to his upcoming fight with leukemia, it was then announced that at Crown Jewel the Universal Title match will be a singles match between Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar instead.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer went on to speculate what will happen with the WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel. Meltzer went on to say that he feels that unless WWE is going to offer Brock Lesnar a ton of money, more than he has ever been offered before, that more than likely we will see Braun Strowman leave Crown Jewel as the Universal Champion.
Regarding the Universal Title match booking at Crown Jewel, Meltzer said:
“Obviously the championship, Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman and obviously that’s going to Braun Strowman unless they — I mean you can’t say 100% I mean they could give Brock Lesnar a ridiculous amount of money and have a surprise ending but I don’t think that’s going to happen this time, who knows?”
It was also pointed out that it looks like WWE is setting up the next program as being Braun Strowman vs. Drew McIntyre, which we saw begin last week when Strowman turned on Ziggler & McIntyre. With the groundwork being laid for that feud it would make sense that Braun Strowman leaves Saudi Arabia as the new Universal Champion.
