As you may know, WWE signed a huge five year deal with FOX which will see SmackDown LIVE move to their main network on Friday nights. It has also been reported that FOX is looking to add more WWE programming to their other networks, and it’s expected that there will be a lot of varying cross-promotional tie-ins between WWE and FOX across many of the networks other platforms and programs as a way to help promote the move of SmackDown LIVE to Friday night’s on FOX.
The FOX Network has also been home to the NFL for many years now airing games on Sunday afternoons, and now this year have added a number of Thursday night games to their lineup as well. The FOX and NFL marriage could also be an interesting opportunity for one of WWE’s top Superstars.
According to a new report from Joseph Peisich of Barn Burner on the latest episode of the No Holds Barred podcast, The Mis is apparently rumored to possibly be in talks to appear on FOX NFL Sunday as a correspondent and giving his weekly NFL picks. The Miz is known for his love of NFL Football, especially the Cleveland Browns and he has appeared on numerous sports programs to discuss fantasy football and the NFL in the past.
Regarding the rumors of The Miz potentially appearing of FOX NFL Sunday, Peisch said:
“I’ve been told that The Miz has maybe been having some negotiations to appear on Fox NFL or The Today Show giving his predictions later on in the year. He’s a big, big Cleveland Browns fan.”
“So look for The Miz to sort of go on Fox NFL every Sunday there.”
The Miz is known as being a huge sports fan, especially for Cleveland sports teams, and even participated in this year’s MLB All-Star Weekend. The Miz was a member of one of the two teams which participated in the MLB 2018 All-Star Weekend Celebrity Softball Game, and was even named the games MVP award winner.
So with The Miz’s having already branched out and appeared on numerous other networks discussing or participating in multiple sports, it would make sense to see The Miz crossing over and appearing on other mediums to help promote the WWE’s move to FOX next year.
