On the latest Q&A on PWINsider, Mike Johnson made it clear that the reason for WWE not booking Evolution event at a large venue in New York was for a simple reason. It’s because the event was an “added show” and places like The Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden were simply unavailable for an event of such a smaller scale. This is what he said:
“This was an added show and they needed a venue that was available. MSG has a Marc Anthony concert tomorrow. There’s a Brooklyn Nets game at the Barclays Center. Neither venue was an option.”
This might have been the best idea since before they had announced that Ronda Rousey would face off against Nikki Bella for her Raw Women’s Championship, ticket sales were not up to the mark.
