Rey Mysterio signed a 2-year contract with WWE with an option not to renew at 18 months. So it’s his decision if he wants to leave the company or not after that period. WWE has attempted to prevent Rey from attending Chris Jericho’s cruise, but he went nonetheless.
Chris Jericho is someone who can do whatever he wants and will not suffer the wrath of Vince. His cruise is comprised of not WWE, but ROH and Impact Wrestling superstars. Which is probably why WWE didn’t want Mysterio to attend it.
WWE has tried to make sure Rey doesn’t go on the Rock n Rager Wrestling At Sea despite saying that he would go but not wrestle there. WWE wanted him to avoid the cruise even though it was on a weekend in which he wasn’t booked.
But, as seen below, Rey is certainly on the cruise and enjoying himself with Impact and ROH wrestlers alike.
