Shayna Baszler became the new NXT Women’s champion after defeating Kairi Sane at WWE Evolution. But it seems she injured herself in the process.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained the extent of her injury and what it could mean for her. This is what he said:
“Shayna injured her ankle during the match. I don’t know the extent of it. She was at the airport this morning on crutches. She was very much downplaying it because she’s Shayna Baszler that’s what MMA fighters so. But she’s scheduled to be evaluated and we’ll find out if it’s bad enough to keep her off of the TakeOver show. We’ll find out — but something happened to her ankle last night.”
We hope she won’t be missing out on Takeover, as she is currently in a storyline along with her four Horsewomen comrades Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, who made their WWE TV debut on Evolution.
